There was a slight wind to the air, though it was not a bad one. Just enough to blow the scent of salt water around the beach. Maybe blow a bit of the dry sand an inch or so. It was a nice scene. The vast ocean spanning out as far as you could see in one direction, the sand going till it could reach some cliffs then a path. The waves of the saltwater brushed against the already wet sand. As though it was a soft caress from a mother to her newborn child. Then the sky. It seemed to mirror the ocean in it's calm ways. It was clear aside from a few wispy clouds brushing the sky like a painters quick brush stroke. Filling ones view if they preferred the sky over the darker blue of the ocean.
At least, this site was wonderful, serene, calm, and more, to one that could see it. To one that could not, however, it only held scent, sound, feel, and even a bit of taste from the occasional breeze of salt water in their mouth. While the scents of the water and clean air breathed into them. The sound of the waves brushing the sand and the feel of the light breeze, and maybe a spray of water if they were to get close enough to the water.
This was Kirucu's life. Full of smells, feeling, hearing, and tasting. Missing the valuable sense of sight. There would be no seeing the ocean, or the wide sky. Just the knowledge that it was there, and the feeling of the water. Though he feared heights he longed for some sense to feel the sky. The boy couldn't seem to understand why he couldn't have his sight. He already lacked physical strength and speed. And he was not smart. All he had was his ability to hear the truth in others voices, the emotions there. That may be an interesting skill but he would trade it for sight. It had no real necessity for him.
Still, this was the past. Occasionally he wanted to see, but he was at a point of getting over his... Disability. Gah, that word. He didn't really like it, mostly because he heard it all the time. Definitely considering the doctors. Oh he hated doctors. They thought they knew it all. Though they also thought that his mother was barren, how wrong had they been! They claim to have near infinite knowledge of medical things yet they hardly know past the outside appearance. They seemed where blinders not seeing past the obvious and looking to other possibilities.
Walking on the side of water gave him a calm feeling. He let it fall around him, the air, sounds, and feel in general, creating a sort of veil, about him. Blocking thoughts he did not want to have. Letting out a soft sigh, not realizing how his breath had been rather shallow before. He usually wasn't allowed out like this, due to his parents worry. Though his father had a whole other house out in the country for him and his mother, along with a couple Helots. So that they were away from the city, prying eyes so he said. He felt it was more so because him and his mother were weak. And his father did not want them in the place where it would affect his job.
Looking up a bit he thought for a moment he may had heard someone's footsteps.

As Rhea walked, the soft sound of her small, bare feet tip-toeing their way through the sand could hardly be heard to the untrained ear. She had her long skirt gathered at the front buy her hands. She paused at a tide pool for lightly jumping over it, nearly slipping on the sand on the other side. She managed to catch her balance and not land on her bottom in the small pool of water.
Somebody's out here. Her mind told her, but that is all she knew. She could no explain how she knew, she just did. Do not ask, for I know that she would not be able to tell you. Rhea looked up at the clear azure sky, tilting her head all the way back and she dropped her gather skirt and stretched out her fingers and held out her hands and did a slow twirl, focusing on the sky, a small but bitter smile on her face. "Anywhere." She said to the sky softly, the words barely passing her rose colored lips. "I want to be anywhere, anywhere but here." She admitted this with a sigh before she dropped her hands to sides again and tilted her head back down and started walking again, gathering the front of her long skirt so it would drag on the sand.
There he is. Rhea knew the thought before it was fully conceived in her mind. She saw his body, a little on the small side, in the distance, moving the same direction she was. Rhea began to walk faster, some thought in her mind began to race around in her mind, and seemed to split and split again until it was the only thing in there, like a cancer. A beautiful, hope filled cancer.I can leave. He can take me away from here, so far away, far, far, away. She broke into a run, her feet hitting the damp sand and leaving small footprints as she swiftly but not gracefully moved across it. But the blossom of the thought was squashed and she saw that in fact he was not a Rom, but a regular Grecian. The lovely disease inside of her died, leaving away it's rotting husk that attached itself to her heat and soul first, eating away at it like a real cancer. I'm still stuck here... But that did not stop her from calling out to the stranger, her voice betraying every thought her mind had envisioned and every emotion her soul and heart had manifested her hopes in. "Hello." It was a greeting, not a question. She did not care that this new boy was a stranger, her could be a bad person, but as the saying goes every stranger is just a friend that you have not yet met. Rhea now caught up to him and placed a friend hand on his shoulder. The ones who knew Rhea knew that she could often peer into a person's soul, so to speak, along with seeing visions of the future, with a simple touch she could look into the emotions of this future, she just did not watch it like some bystander, she was the person in her visions, no matter if this future they spoke of was in a few seconds or a hundred years, and this allowed her to know a person before actually meeting them. This was the sight that she possessed.
Her brows furrowed as she allowed herself to probe a bit too far into the boy. "... Are you blind?" She finally asked, she had not looked him in the eye as of it, but she could feel it, standing in the rain, her body fading in and out from the coolness of the rain and the heat of the beach, the cold wind and the warm breeze.
She frowned as she realized that the innocent question could be taken the wrong way, an insult instead of a simple question. But she'll cross that bridge when she comes to it, if she comes to it.
((Does this work?))

[It's fine. ^^]
Kirucu had not expected a voice to call him. The pure emotion in her voice taking him by surprise, causing him to take a moment to process it. Pausing in that span of time before continuing in his original direction, that he now knew was toward her. Figuring it would only be rude to take another direction now that she knew he was here. Once more he was taken aback by her. Though now by the hand on his shoulder. Not turning toward her or even bothering to shrug it off though. Then that classic question of are you blind?
It brought him no unease even said when he bumped into someone and they snapped it at him. though here and now it was obvious she meant it in no such way. Simply a curious question. Now by her voice, since she was closer now, he could tell close to her age. He would say anything from ten to fifteen. He was no good with aging people by voices. Only a guess in what age they could be. This still did not mean you could lie about things, such as age or even color of your hair, he could just tell. After so long with hearing lies people told he learned the slight difference in tone of voice, or how they shifted or breathed. There was always something that gave them away even to one that could not see.
"Eh, yes. I am." He replied in a partially casual partially wary, the tone that was frequently integrated into his tone. The wariness. It seemed that it could simply be something that was there because of the fact he was blind that he chose to be wary and cautious about new people, or simply people in general. Quite the oppisote of Rhea, whom chose to be friendly to all she met. Though he did not know this now it would become obvious enough after a while. He turned his head slightly toward her, not that it mattered much. Though he felt her watching he knew not where, that it was in his eyes.
"If I may ask, who are you?" He asked. Then added in an attempt to be friendly, "I am Kirucu, Gray." He only added Gray after a moment of pause. Thinking about whether he wanted to add it at first. After all, despite the fact that you were meant to take pride in your family name, especially if you were one of good birth, he still found he could not be prideful for his name. It simply meant he was tossed into a dark world, figurative and literally. Though he is thankful his mother and father kept him, as all weaklings feel when kept, he sometimes feel he understands why the weaklings were not kept. Sometimes it was better for the family, polis and even the weakling at times.

Rhea just nodded as Kirucu told her that he was blind. How did he get all the way here if he was blind? That seemed a bit mind boggling to Rhea, but there was so much that Rhea did not understand, no body accused her of being over intelligent, so this feeling of not understanding she was used to and she just let it drop.
“I’m Rhea Phionix.” She said, also not proud of her Grecian sir name but included it anyways. She would much rather be a nameless Gypsy then live here. “I live near here.” She informed him. Gray… Gray… where had she heard this name before? Doctor. The voice in her mind told her, but she did not know this before. She did not mention anything about it, and pretended that she had never heard the last name Gray. She smiled though she knew Kirucu would not be able to see it, but she knew that people could hear smiles in other’s voices. “It’s odd seeing anybody else down here.” She informed him, a laugh bubbling in her throat, sounding like a small and happy stream. “Can I walk with you?” She asked, now linking her arm with his in such formal-yet casual fashion, like two friends walking down the old streets of London, like two colleges. Like a lord and a lady. Yes, Rhea definitely was a girl of a different time, a time filled with mythical beasts and the era of discovery, so many things to learn and do. The steam engine and dresses.

It was common for one to wonder how Kirucu was able to actually get down to ocean. But oddly enough, it never was for him. He would tell one of the Helots he wished to go and walk at the beach; while his mother was not home naturally. Most of the time the Helot went with him, or simply nudged him in the right direction. From their he could find the path down from the sounds of the waves, and the scent of the salty water that touched the air. Getting back was a bit more of a task, but he managed it.
It was odd to find he was rather mesmerized by her laugh. Considering it seemed to resemble the way the ocean could initialize the calm feeling in him, this laugh of hers made him want to smile. So he gave her a rather unsteady smile, but a smile none the less.
Even more surprise came from her linking her arm with his in he casual way. This girl was quite different from others he had met, or people in general for that matter. A lot of people simply tried to be helpful to him, ignored him, or even more so, annoyed him. That is, when he got a chance to meet people, or people around his age. He had not really expected to meet someone down here. Of course there was the occasional person talking a short walk to whom he would say hi and give a slight wave, no more, no less. "I don't mind." He managed to reply to her question.
Vaguely; he wondered what she looked like. Surely with her aura and voice she was beautiful. Though at this point he found himself not caring much, for she was friendly and said aura made him smile, though small, a real smile. "It would be nice to have company." He decided to add. Then after thinking a moment, not wanting to walk in silence because of lack of conversation he added, "going off how you sound you sound pretty young. But I'm no good at ages." He said giving another smile, though this one was more steady, with less unease, though it was simply a smile.

Rhea smiled again and continued her walk as she talked with Kirucu. “I’m twelve.” She told him with a slight grin. “How old are you? You don’t look that much older than I am.” She informed him, casting a look at the sapphire sea as each wave gently washed up on the shore. She allowed her mind to wander for a moment, though she was still listening for when Kirucu would speak.
((I am so sorry @__o))

"Heh, fifteen. Three years actually." Kirucu said managing a slight smile. Kind of liking the normal conversation. Despite the fact that a lot of people, though he didn't exactly know, probably found it hard to have a normal conversation with Rhea. "You said you live around here, I think it would be nice to live closer to the ocean. I mean, we live sorta close." He mumbled the last sentence almost blushing at his slight ramble.

Rhea giggled and nooded before remembering that he was blind. "Yeah, it's pretty cool. When I get mad at my brother I come down here to think." She said lightly, watching the clouds with interest unknown to everyone else.
"Where do you live?" She asked him, incase somebody needed to walk him back home after wandering so far away, not that she would voice this outloud, he might become offended. Also, she really did no want to leave his precense, as it was with everybody she met. The poor girl really needed some friends, she was so lonely all the time.

He smirked slightly as she giggled. Kirucu turned his head slightly nodding behind him. "Back that way. I know how to get back though. I walk around here more then you may think." He replied turning back.

"Ah, okay." Rhea said. "That's odd. I've never seen you before." Rhea said thoughtfully, lifting up h er face to the sky again. "The ocean really is lovely." She said, her voice just as light and thoughful as it was before. "So many sensations." She stated, closing her eyes and walking carfully, feeling the sand seep between her toes and the soft breeze that came off of the waves, the sound of the gently pushing their way ashore.

"I've never... Heard you. But normally I don't come out this far." Kirucu replied. He nodded slightly at her next comments. That's why he liked it out here so much. All his working senses could be felt here on the beach. "But it's best when it's windy. For me at least." He stated with a small smile.

Rhea nodded. "I can understand why." She said to him. "You should come down here more often, I like the company!" She said, laughing lightly again, twirling a strand of her long hair around one finger.

Kirucu nodded. "Yeah. It's nice to have company." His smile widened slightly. And odd question struck him then. It was rather random for him, at least. "Have you ever wanted to get out of Sparta?" It was even more odd that he just asked it. Just tilting his head back down.
